And yess ahhh thank you for your kind words, you guys have been wonderful too, give yourself some credit too!
This is the last Albedo request in the inbox and woohoo, we ended this streak in one of the hard prompts I've come by so far ahaha
I'm not sure if I interpreted anon right but this shall be a fic as originally requested? I'm apologizing in advance because I don't think I've captured this scenario well enough hehe,,, but I hope you still enjoy this!
Keep Me Intertwined
Albedo with a gn!reader that's scared of going out alone (Mild Social Phobia?)
Tumblr media
Albedo is a genuis, everybody knows that, even beyond the walls of Mondstadt. Praised and sought out by scholars to ask for his wisdom and a majority of the time they receive their desired enlightenment.
Indeed, the Kreideprinz is a genuis even if he says otherwise, but he's a genuis in the art of Kemia. And only that. Truth be told there are a lot of things he lacks when it comes to knowledge, as his focus is only in the science he wants to explore. Beyond that, he comes close to a child's understanding of the world.
When he bumped into you when he was strolling through the stalls during a market fair of travelling merchants, he'd thought it would be something he can shrug off easily, but as he moves his head to look at the perpetrator he'd hear a squeak of a "sorry" and a running figure. What?
Albedo silently pats himself down as he continues to watch as the silhouette disappears farther, with a calculating gaze to memorize all their features for... future references.
After he made sure it wasn't a thief that bumped to him to pickpocket, he immediately moves on without another thought.
"Ah, you're the one from the marketplace yesterday." In all honesty, your second meeting was quicker to come than he expected, and at the most curious location of all places. In the Knights of Favonius HQ. How had he not heard or seen of you before?
Your shoulders tense at the sound before you even closed the door of which you came from. This was a room he's never seen anyone use, he realized. Was this where you've been residing all this time? What an oversight on his part but it seems that you two share the common practice of barely leaving your quarters.
When you turned around, behind those surprised eyes lies a gentleness of relief he has not seen a mixture of in the ones he'd observed before. "O-Oh, Chief Alchemist! I'm really sorry about that, I was- I'm really sorry!" He hums in contemplation before shaking his head, assuring you it was a matter that caused no harm.
There was more to it, but his thoughts are distracted with his current task at hand, and with a short goodbye he made his way out down the hall where the stairs resides.
His heavy boots clap on the carpeted floor...
Paired with shuffling light ones to try and match his stride.
Huh? "Are you perhaps going outside?" He confirms with a soft yes as he continues his walk. What are you implying? "Is it okay if I join your company? I uhm also need to get some stuff from outside." He just nods, not one for small talk or questioning. It's nothing much to think about really—
Your loose and subtle grip around the chains hanging by his coat seem to ground him from his musings as you two traverse through Mondstadt in a normal gait. He tries not to think about it too much, but the way you look around with unease when you near other people or your desperate strides to stay a respectable distance to him were things he observed during the walk. Albedo was no man of science focusing on human personality and it bothers him.
It was like a game of cat and mouse between you two running errands, he'll detour to the side and you'll follow him, and if you need to drop by to a building then he'll have to follow you.
And he doesn't know why. Is it because of his mannerism towards taking care of Klee? Or his feeling of responsibility for bringing you along?
During this whole ordeal the Chief Alchemist has brought himself a bright idea (it is not) and went into his scientific mode. He watches you talk to one of the citizens about a commission you had finished yesterday and after confirming your undivided attention, he quietly slips away from the area to visit the Alchemy stall where Timaeus would surely be working on.
It took about an hour before he was allowed to use the table, because Timaeus took so long working on his forgery. Goodness that man needs to work on his studies more.
Ah, speaking of— Albedo realized he'd just up and left you for an hour. Without a second thought he retraced his steps to where he had last seen you. Surely you would have gone off to do your own thing, probably finished up your errands by now and had gone back to the Knights headquarters.
An unmoving force made him tumble forward as his coat seemed to have been caught. If you were there, it would be a sight to see, a rare moment of the Kreideprinz so uncomposed and shocked as he catches himself with a sputter. What the hell? His head snaps to look over his shoulder at such incredible speed, you'd thought it really would have snapped—
The clutch on his chain accessory tightens. With your head down low he couldn't see what expression you were, but your tense shoulders shake with a tremor similar to that of an on-going earthquake. His guilt was more obvious as your knuckles turn white from the deadly grip.
"Albedo-!" You exclaimed in what seems to be a cross between a whine and a whimper. "You disappeared, I couldn't- I couldn't leave..."
He hides a sigh as you refuse to look up to show your face. And in a comforting manner he has 'mastered' with a certain someone, he gently pries off your tight grip (with some urging pats to get you to loosen) before interlocking your fingers with his gloved ones. And he smiles as genuinely as he can, "I'm sorry, I won't do it again. Are you done here? It's almost night, we should get moving."
Your nod of agreement was a breath of fresh air to him.
▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱
Days after that were pretty much as uneventful as uneventful it could be for Albedo's lifestyle.
Holed up in his laboratory for days without rest like the madman he is. Master's alembic and grounds of scarlet quartz able to keep his mind occupied to not wonder. Hyperfocused, no one has seen him out, only Sucrose dropping by with an 'assistant pass' despite the experiment on-going sign hanging by his doorknob.
When he finally stepped out to the hallway, three days already passed. The door behind him clicks as it locks, a sound that echoed with the door four rooms apart to his.
Kaeya looks up from your doorknob when he noticed the approaching silhouette. "Oh, Chief Alchemist? Finally came out of your cave." He quipped as he leans his shoulder against your room's door, visible eyebrow raising slightly after noticing the fleeting gaze Albedo passed at the door.
"Cavalry Captain, good evening. What were you doing there?" Straight to the point.
The taller man's eyebrow rose higher before he composed his amusement. "I didn't expect you to be into rumors, Albedo." The Alchemist's brows furrows in response. "No harm done, worry not. I just accompanied them on their trip outside before retreating for the night."
Humming to himself, Albedo's eyes wonder back to your doorknob before it was protectively shielded by the man's... white fur cloak?
"I also heard you left them alone when you two were out. I didn't expect you to be such a cruel man, amping up their fear after the progress they've made." Fear? Progress? More questions swirled within the genius' mind the more he talked with this.
Kaeya had noticed his faraway look and pieced together the context. Finally, he offered to explain the background of the issue and Albedo was ecstatic to listen in, a first with the blunette.
"Do you understand it now?"
"Mhm."
"Then I'll leave them to your care, I'm sure your genius mind can come up with something."
"Huh?"
And thus you find yourself standing at the bottom steps of the Ordo Favonius HQ the next morning, hand in hand with the Chief Alchemist you've last seen four days ago. Doesn't he have better things to do? No, he reasoned the solution he worked on will take two days to formulate the desired sediment, and so he has that timeframe free for the taking.
You would have been confused and wary he'd abandon you again—
Were you not forced to listen to the two dummies talk about YOU right outside your ROOM.
"You uhm, you don't have to hold my hand during this whole trip, Master Albedo."
"Albedo." He corrected. "And this is necessary, much more convenient and predictable than pulling on my chains really." A touch of a blush framed your cheeks with embarrassment.
"I have nothing in my itinerary today, so feel free to tug me along. It is, after all, the most I can do for what happened."
Despite the rough texture from the long use, the leathered hand in yours brought about more comfort than you would have thought.
Bonus:
The solar isotoma sparkled in pure golden beauty in front of you, but it didn't prevent the anxiety bubbling inside as you watch Albedo hop over the ledge with the help of his geo construct. "What- what are you doing?"
"Experiment. I'll be up in the roof looking over you so you'll know I'm still here, if it makes a difference if your company is far from arms length or not." He replied as he casually hopped over to the roof of a housing unit.
"Albedooo!"
Tumblr media
I didn't get to capture all the aspects of the request that I wanted to focus on ahhhhh, I got so conscious of the length I had to stop it! Still ack I hope I captured his personality and context well— and I'm sorry if I amped up the fear more than you gave, I'm not really sure how bad it was supposed to be skskskks
But hey, this being the last Albedo req in my inbox, I am now free from this man *happy sigh* //:Albedo smut leading the leaderboard for the followers event looms over from behind:// *sweats*

(Diakko week) There’s no way she- (5) ““There’s no way she would ever lose her again.””
A/N: I’m late because. I’m dying in school. Thank you. Dw, I’ll finish the story regardless.
Enjoy?
~Shintori Khazumi
Day 5: Afterlife/Reincarnation
“There’s no way she would ever lose her again.”
[“I will be with you in our next life, and into forever... Diana.”]
“-ness. Your highness, please wake up.”
Akko stirred from her slumber, feeling the silken sheets slip from her shoulders as she was aided into a sitting position.
Yesterday’s meeting must have really worn her out if her body felt this heavy the following morning.
“Ugh- Thank you, Anna. May I have a glass of water?” She requested, holding a hand out in waiting while the other cradled her throbbing head.
“Of course, your excellency.”
Having been handed the drink, Akko took large gulps until she cleared the cup of its contents, handing it back to her attendant. “Thank you.”
“I am glad to be of service.”
Akko continued to massage her throbbing temples, trying to think of all she had to attend to today. It was proving difficult however as she felt strange emotions swirl deep within her. Somehow, she felt as though she had dreamt of something important last night. However, she could not- for the life of her- seem to remember.
“Could you call Finnelan for me?” She moaned through the steadily intensifying pain.
“Right away.”
Akko nodded her gratefulness to Anna who quickly went to fetch the person she needed to see. Not a minute later, Akko’s court adviser had walked into the room, some papers in hand.
“You rang, Empress?”
Kagari Atsuko, empress of the continent of Solis, raised her head to greet her subject, trying her best to put on a presentable face.
“Yes. I apologize for my current state, but I’m feeling a little unwell. I’d like to ask if I had anything important that I needed to accomplish today? Anything that needs immediate regard?”
Finnelan gave her a sympathetic smile, leafing through the papers she had brought with her. “Not that I know of, Empress. You are fairly ahead of schedule for most of your work, and anything scheduled for today can be moved to at least three days later with nothing affecting any ongoing or future work.”
Akko sighed in relief, allowing herself to fall back into her covers. “Thank goodness. Would it be alright if I take the day off? I’m feeling a little unwell.”
Finellan laughed at the question. The young empress sure could be considerate.
“You literally own the entire empire, your Majesty. People’s time revolves around you. I mean this in a positive way. You are allowed to take breaks. No one could ever tell you no.”
Akko laughed along lightly with her, glad that she could take a much deserved rest.
“I will take up the opportunity then.”
“Please do. We can’t have our Empress functioning at any capacity less than her best.”
“Understood~” Akko lazily saluted as her subjects shook their heads in fondness.
“We shall be taking our leave then.” Finnelan said for both of them, taking a bow as she did.
“If you need anything, your majesty, feel free to call for me.” Anna reminded before they both finally left the empress to her own devices.
At the sound of the door clicking shut, Akko sighed, draping her arm across her eyes as she thought of what she should do with her free time now. Clearly, resting was at the top of her priority list, but she knew she wouldn’t be able to just keep still and laze around all day.
She decided she’d nap and grab a bite to eat before doing some exploring- something she hadn’t been able to do lately. The forests to the south of the palace sounded like the ideal place to adventure in today.
With her plan in mind, she laid herself to sleep and succumbed to the temptations of her sheets.
//
Akko felt significantly better once mid-afternoon came around. She had satisfyingly filled her stomach and had acquired her much needed rest. Refreshed, she decided to go for a ride into the southern woods, as planned.
Akko walked through the palace halls, first searching for Anna to let her know she was heading out. With the castle staff aware of her whereabouts, she made her way out the back doors and hiked far enough that she’d be hidden from anyone’s immediate sight.
She scanned her surroundings for any presence or unwanted eyes. Finding none, she sighed in relief, reaching into the pocket of her coat and pulling out a small locket- an oddly shaped one. One that looked uncannily like...
A briefcase.
This odd artifact had been with her since the day she was born, apparently. Her parents hadn’t given it to her, that’s for sure. They just said that one moment she was born, and the next they’d seen her, she already had the necklace laid next to her in her crib. She had never parted with it since then.
It wasn’t something they could explain. Maybe a cleric or a mysterious nurse had gifted it to her, who knew. All Akko knew was that one day, she suddenly had many creatures to call family, and somehow, she knew each one by heart.
Whispering a few words against the locket, and planting a gentle kiss on it, the case grew and she was able to open it.
Biting her lip, she weighed a few options in her mind. Who should she call today...
Ah, of course. If she wanted to brave the woods and look for adventure, who better to call on than-
“Florence.”
Immediately, a gentle glow of light filled her area, and a regal-looking creature emerged, basking in the light for a few moments before nuzzling Akko’s side.
The empress giggled, petting her creature before returning the briefcase to its former state and hanging it around her neck.
“Hello, my friend.”
Without her having to say another word, Florence took her up on his own back before quickly ascending to the heavens and flying quickly across the vast lands, giving Akko a gorgeous bird’s eye view of the landscape.
As they sword above the heights of trees, Akko spotted an open area. She was sure that if she had walked the woods, she’d never spot this peculiar looking shack as it seemed cloaked in some sort of... magic.
Carefully, she had Florence glide about the air before silently landing nearby, but not quite in the area. Her intuition had proved right as she struggled for a few minutes to see what she had found from above. Using her general instinct and memory of where she vaguely assumed that place to be, she eventually stumbled through an odd-feeling magical barrier that allowed her to stumble upon a cottage that looked nothing like what she had seen mid-air.
It looked cozy, quite homely.
Akko looked around, hoping to see any signs of a person as clearly someone resided here- what with the well-kept grass and the lively waving by the window.
She followed the dotted stony path leading to the door, reading the sign left there.
[Apothecary Cavendish is closed. Return tomorrow.]
Akko frowned slightly for two reasons. One beint that that odd name caused her head to throb once more. Was she getting sick again? Maybe not. The other reason Akko felt disheartened was due to the fact that she wouldn’t exactly be having a tomorrow to check this place out as she would have to get back to work. She wasn’t quite sure if she’d have any time this week either. Or this month. Or... ever.
She weighed her options.
She could sneak out of the castle at some point in the future. Or maybe she could quench her curious thirst right now and try opening the door- have a little peek, that’s all. She could say that it was an inspection since she was sure this place wasn’t on the empire’s map, nor was it registered in any city or town hall.
She was simply investigating, yes. Investigating. For the safety of her country and men.
Akko nodded, knowing she hadn’t really convinced herself of anything. Reaching for the knob, she felt her hands sweat and tremble, throat drying. She really was justifying her actions that could very well be a crime. Empress or not, this was really wrong. But... She just had to know... She just had to reach and turn the knob and take one small look and all would be fine. She’d leave without a trace, and no one would kno-
“Who are you.”
Akko felt her body go rigid in fright, slowly turning around to spot a woman with basket of what seemed to be herbs. Had she just returned from collecting them-
“Ugh-”
“Hey! Are you okay?”
Again. It was back again. The pain in her head.
Akko crouched down, cradling her head in her hands with her eyes squeezed shut as the world spun round and round until she hit the ground. She barely heard the panicked yelling of her companion as all went to black.
//
“You’re awake.”
Akko blinked once, twice. Her visage was filled with soft light and wooden framing across a tall roof. Turning to her side she watched the woman she’d met only moments ago squeezing a towel over a basin before gently laying it over her forehead.
“A high fever, and you had the gall to go exploring in these dangerous woods.” She scolded Akko who couldn’t help but stare, not processing anything she’d just said.
Akko didn’t know why, but something spoke familiarity in just about everything this woman had been showing her. Her manner of speech, of action, the way she was currently scolding Akko with a stern and frank voice that still held a gentle warmth to it- everything about her told Akko that couldn’t possibly be the first time they’d met.
At least... not in this lifetime...?
Akko did a double-take at her thought process. This lifetime? What did that mean? Had she ever been one to believe in something like reincarnation and multiple lives? Well, she didn’t necessarily doubt it either. She simply never thought of it until now.
So… what did she think of it now?
“Um, pardon me? Are you alright? Are you still with me?”
Akko realized her mind had wandered so far that she forgot her manners.
“Ah, my apologies. I just...just…” She had looked up to meet the eyes of her savior to show her sincerity, but so quickly got lost in them. Sparkling blue gems that were framed with long lashes above the gentle slope of a tall nose and healthy pink lips distracted her.
Holy shit. This lady was-
“Absolutely stunning.”
Miss Stunning blinked. As did Akko.
“Thank...you…?”
It was only then that Akko came to her senses, immediately rising from the bed, only to smack her head straight into her companion’s nose.
“CR- CRUMPETS AND SHIITAKE MUSHROOMS-… WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!” She groaned, nursing her nose and checking for any possible signs of bleeding.
Fortunately for her, their were none. Unfortunately for Akko she was now rather cross.
Akko reached out to assist her, but the woman promptly created distance between them, not trusting Akko anymore in case of any more surprise attacks.
“Miss, I-”
“Just-! If you’re feeling better, please leave. Please. I beg you.”
Akko really, truly felt terrible for causing her so much trouble that she silently complied. With a bow, she gathered her coat that had been hanging off a dining room chair, wore it and said her farewells.
“I’m sorry to have bothered you. And trespassed.” She apologized, head hung low. “I-if it’s alright…” Still, something deep within her told her she still needed to come back. She needed to know of this woman and the strong pull she seemed to have over her. “May I come back?”
Akko could see the woman’s hesitance in her eyes. She watched her deliberate over the decision, before sighing and agreeing, much too Akko’s surprise.
“Fine. I guess I do need a few more customers. Wouldn’t mind that.” She reluctantly gave Akko a smile… and a piece of paper with a few things written on it.
Akko cocked her head to the side, scrutinizing the item. “What’s this?” She inquired, confused.
She watched the other woman crack a grin, finding it somehow incredibly endearing. “The bill.” She stated factually. “For the services I’ve provided you, good miss.”
Akko’s jaw dropped at the words. She couldn’t even tell if she was being teased or-
“I’m dead serious.” She was told. “My ingredients don’t really grow on tre-… okay, some do. But this forest doesn’t exactly grow me any money. Only resources.”
That drew a fit of laughs from Akko who was incredibly amused by this stranger’s straightforwardness.
“Alright, alright.” She was never really short on money anyway. “I’ll come back with your compensation. That, I promise.”
And she swore she died a little at the smile she received just then. Her brain ceased to function and her feet would no longer move.
“Miss?”
“O-Oh! Sorry, just… uh. Got lost in the moment there. Um…” Awkwardly scratching the back of her head, she bid her farewells. “Well, I’ll see you around um…” Oh. She didn’t quite know the woman’s name.
“Hmm?” Akko was given a questioning look before the apothecary caught on. “Oh, right. We forgot to introduce ourselves to one another. Hello there.”
“H-hello.”
“I go by Cavendish…
Diana Cavendish.”
And at those words it felt like puzzles of a piece Akko didn’t know she was solving, suddenly fit. Sparks connected, and her mind ran miles and miles per hour over memories, thoughts, emotions, and a past Akko now fully remembered.
A past where she had love. A past where she had… Diana Cavendish.
She hadn’t even realized when it was she started crying, but Diana had reacted faster than she did, dabbing Akko’s face with a handkerchief while awkwardly consoling her.
“May I… embrace you?” Akko suddenly blurted out.
Diana, already surprised from Akko’s sudden crying, became all the more shocked. Her being a little weirded out by what Akko had requested was also not something she particularly hid from showing on her face.
“May I... Could I possibly embrace you?” Akko repeated to her, well aware of how odd it was to ask that of someone who clearly thought her to be a stranger.
“I don’t even know who you are, sorry.” Diana eventually admitted, the words breaking Akko’s heart just a bit.
Akko couldn’t remember the last time words had hurt her this much, but Diana not remembering the things they’d been through and Akko knowing the things she knew… it was just a bit much.
Maybe… this wasn’t something that was meant to be. Akko decided to plaster on a smile. Maybe she could try again tomorrow? Would Diana be able to remember her as well? Should Akko just tell her? Would she even believe her?
Akko didn’t have much time to think about it any longer as the sun began to set. It was time for her to leave.
“My apologies.” Akko sighed, giving Diana a respectful bow. “That was rather rude of me, wasn’t it?”
Diana gave her a small, suspicious nod.
“I must be on my way, but… um…” Akko felt her palms sweat and she quickly wiped it off on her garments before holding a hand out. “Let us start over again.” She smiled. She could do this much at least. Right?
Diana took her hand incredibly slowly and carefully. Akko kept up her smile despite all the salt continuously being added to a fresh wound.
“Hello, Miss Diana.” She greeted. “I am a simple noblewoman in this country and I go by the name..,” Maybe if she said her name, Diana would remember just as she had.
Or maybe not and Akko would continue to wallow in sadness for a few days more.
Only one way to find out.
“Kagari Atsuko”
Nothing.
There was nothing.
Diana neither flinched, nor blinked, nor spoke a word.
Akko could now actually hear her heart start to crack, ready to shatter. The universe sure could be cruel sometime-
The sunset sky sure looked lovely from where Akko was laying on the ground, tackled by a Diana who now sobbed heavily into her robe.
“B-by gods, Akko… Akko. Akko.” Diana chanted, over and over and over again. “Akko. Akko. Akko. Atsuko. Kagari Atsuko. My Akko.” She cried into the crook of Akko’s neck, placing kisses along that curve and up to her cheek,
Adjusting herself so that she was comfortably atop Akko, she cupped both the brunette’s cheeks, looking into her eyes as if she were confirming this to not be a dream.
Akko felt her eyes water again, the shock of the sudden attack fading away as it all begun to sink.
That Diana remembered.
That they both did.
As though she had found it, Diana’s face lit up into the biggest smile as she leaned down to plant a kiss on Akko’s lips for as long as she could, like she was afraid Akko would disappear again at any minute.
They both laughed through the tears and the kisses, Akko carefully sitting them up with Diana situated on her lap.
Having run out of air, they parted, Akko immediately grabbing both of Diana’s hands and planted kissed on them,
Diana felt her stomach flutter at the familiar gesture, bringing her hands up to brush the sides of Akko’s face, her bangs and hair, and play with her eats that were warm at the tips.
“I’ve missed you.” Diana whispered.
The floodgates opened once more and Akko cried the most she had in this lifetime.
Cradling Diana close to her chest. Showering her lover with her own affections and completely forgetting about her home, Akko just reveled in the miracle that they had acquired, happy beyong measure.
“I’ve finally found you again.” She told Diana, tightening her arms around her as she felt Diana do the same.
Akko smiled even wider-if it was possible as she continued her statement.
“I love you.” She whispered with Diana whispering it back. “And this time, I’ll never lose you. Ever again.” Akko promised, and Diana nodded, wrapped in euphoria and Akko’s arms.
“Never again.”
A/N: I rushed this already, I’m sorry. ;-;. See you last 2 chaps!

Steve Rogers always felt out of place. There was simply no other way to describe it.
He never made many friends during his childhood and certainly not through his teenage years. He could never hold a girl's attention for the right reasons like his good friend Bucky could. He was yet to have his first kiss, his first date, even his first time.
Though it had taken him awhile, Steve had realised that everything would work out for him the way it was supposed to. If he was meant to be alone for the rest of his life, however long that may be, he would just have to suck it up. He wasn't mad or bitter and for the most part, he had spent his time either alone, with his mother at home before she passed or with Bucky when the latter wasn't out on one of his many, many dates.
Bucky was with no doubt, his best friend. His only friend if he was being completely honest with himself. The two had met many years ago when both boys were still in single digit in age. Steve had, unfortunately, drawn the attention of a few older boys who seemed to want to knock him down a peg. Steve was no stranger to a fight, however, he was a stranger to someone swooping in and saving him.
Though it had been a change for Steve, having someone who enjoyed dragging him places, he never minded it one bit. It would be hard for another to come along and take Bucky's place as he would always hold Bucky on a pedestal because for the first time in his life, someone who didn’t treat him like he was fragile, hung out with him willingly.
It was a chilly Tuesday morning when Steve had decided to take a trip to the newly opened diner three blocks from where he lived. He had made sure to wear a thick over jacket as well as a coat when he had left for the shop, having only just gotten over a cold he had been almost bed-ridden with.
The bell chimed when he pushed the front door to the diner open. He was unsurprised to find that the air was thick with the scent of coffee. He slid in and frowned slightly when the shop was slightly empty. It was a fairy new shop and perhaps word of the mouth had not gotten around like the new owners had hoped.
Steve took a seat at the nearest booth, resting his arms on the table in front of him as he politely waited for the woman who was making her round with the pot of coffee. He smiled politely when she came to a stop beside him and held out the glass pot. Steve nodded, gripping one of the mugs from the stand and allowing her to fill it up.
He spent the next half an hour nursing his coffee in his hands, drinking at his own pace while taking in the outside world through the window beside him. Getting out the house had done him a lot of good and he felt almost like his usual self.
For the first time since he had entered the diner, the door chimed as it was pushed open. For whatever reason, Steve found himself looking over his shoulder at whoever it was who had chosen that particular diner to visit. It was as he was about to return to his coffee that Steve's head shot back to look at the new comer. His brows were drawn high as he watched her move to a table across the isle from him. It wasn't as though he knew the woman. No, it was more the way she had sucked his attention in on the one feature he had noticed instantly.
Steve was sure it was the first time in his life that he had ever been in the presence of a woman that was shorter than him.
Shock was the first feeling he felt before he scolded himself. He didn't like it when people deemed it necessary to gawk and stare at him so he shouldn't be doing it to another person. He knew how it felt and he wasn't trying to make anyone feel as small as they were.
He snapped his eyes away from her form when she had met his gaze. Though he hated it, he felt his cheeks heat up at being caught. He cleared his throat, fiddling with his mug as he felt a sudden gaze on his person. He looked out the window, begging the ground to swallow him whole.
"Refill?"
Steve snapped his head to the old woman who was shaking the pot of coffee inches from his face. "Excuse me?"
"Would you like a refill?" The woman asked, using the pot to motion to his almost empty mug.
"Oh, yes please." Steve smiled, politely.
He slid his mug a little closer to her with his pointer finger. As she filled his mug up, Steve found himself looking around her and meeting the mystery woman's eyes.
One of his brows shot up without his say so when he watched her almost mimic what he had surely done moments before. She snapped her eyes away, her own cheeks turning red as she stared down at her coffee as though it was the most interesting thing in the world to her.
For the first time in his life, Steve Rogers smiled at the antics of a woman.
He could almost hear Bucky's voice in his ear, demanding that he go talk to the 'pretty dame'. He would never deny that she wasn't pretty. She was very beautiful indeed and he'd be a fool to not admit it. Her skin was glowing and he could see that her eyes were framed by long lashes.
For some unknown reason, a surge of determination filled ever fibre of his body. It had him on his feet, his coffee mug in his hand as he made his way to her booth before he could chicken out and run all the way back home; No doubt, wheezing.
She looked up as he came to a stop beside the spot opposite her. "Hey... Hello, um... Do you mind if I?" His hand was motioning to the booth.
"O-Of course." Her voice was beautifully sweet as she nodded, fiddling with her mug.
"Thank you." Steve said, placing his mug on the table and sliding into the booth. "I-I'm Steve... By the way."
She smiled once more, giving him her undivided attention. Again, something he wasn't used to. "I'm Y/N."
"Y/N..." Steve tested the name on his lips, smiling when he found it rolling off his tongue smoothly. "It's nice to meet you, Y/N."
For a good few minutes, the two sat in a slightly uncomfortable silence. It was clear to anyone who would look upon them that the both were desperate to pluck up the courage to start a conversation. Many times they had each went to open their mouths, finding their voices stuck and afraid to come forth.
It was Y/N who broke the silence finally, her voice barely above a whisper. "How're you liking the place so far?"
Steve frowned, not fully grasping what she was talking about. He eyed her for a moment before looking around the diner. He wanted to hit himself when he did look around, figuring out pretty quickly that she was talking about the diner. "Oh! It's nice... Quiet, which I like."
"Me too." Y/N smiled. "I feel bad for saying that I was hoping it would be empty on my way here."
"Why?" Steve asked before he could stop himself.
"Oh, um... I don't like the attention." She admitted, shrugging slightly. "I mean, men can be rude."
She had said it plainly, deciding that it was best not to beat around the bush. Y/N had expected Steve to take offense to what she had said. She had not been expecting him to chuckle and nod, agreeing with her words.
"I know what you mean." Steve said. "I've seen some real swell dame's go off with some questionable guys."
"You didn't stop them?" Y/N asked, tilting her head. "I'm sure they would've preferred someone like you."
Steve coughed, looking slightly shocked by what she had said. "No, no... Definitely not. Dames don't like guys like me."
"Guys like you?"
"Guys they might step on. Guys that're shorter than they are." Steve found that the embarrassment he usually felt when admitting that to people was non existent.
"Oh... I know what that feels like." Y/N almost smiled sadly. Steve frowned once more, raising a brow as though asking her to go on. "Guys like their woman shorter than them... Not so short that they lose them in a small crowd. Or so I've been told."
Steve felt a wave of anger fill him. Who had said that to her? Who would be as shallow as to say something like that out loud. How tall or how short someone was had nothing to do with anyone. It wasn't as though it's their fault.
"I think you're perfect." Steve blurted out. It was Y/N's turn to raise a brow at the blonde. "I just mean... I just... Well, I noticed you when you came in. I'll admit, I was shocked that you were so small but not in a bad way... It's rare that I see someone shorter than me."
"Thanks." Y/N smiled, genially smiled at him. "For what it's worth... I noticed you too."
Steve, feeling that wave of braveness come back to him smiled brightly before he opened his mouth. "W-would you like to go for a walk? It's fine if y-"
"I'd like that."

Happy Sunday and new DW episode tonight 😁 in the meantime, here is part 2 of my Dark Eyes AU! Enjoy!
Part 2
Helen remained in the shadows until the street was empty. She didn’t want to be seen seeking out the traitor, she had no intention of being associated with her. That wasn’t necessarily a reflection on Liv Chenka herself. Helen had to admit, in her conversation with her a few days ago she had been pleasantly surprised. She seemed neither malicious nor deceitful, she merely didn’t want people to get hurt. There was something quite admirable about that but not everyone had the luxury of such moral absolutes. The real reason she didn’t want to be associated with her was her reputation. She was an outcast. It had struck her when Helen had been in her home. Most people had grouped together - strength in numbers - and pooled resources to build better homes, but Chenka was all by herself. Helen couldn’t imagine what that was like, to live through the horrors of their time and have no-one to turn to. In the end, she only has herself to blame, she thought.
Helen had allowed her three days to contemplate their offer and it was time for an answer. The Hawk was getting impatient. She hadn’t been keen on the mission, not after the run-in she’d had with the med-tech that same night, but the Hawk seemed to think she was just the person for it. Unfortunately, she wasn’t sure whether that was because he had confidence in her or in her pretty face.
Helen checked up and down the road one last time to make sure no-one was watching, then she walked up to the door, pulling her hood deep into her face for both anonymity and protection from the rain.
Liv Chenka opened on the third knock. The surprise in her face for seeing her quickly turned to a frown.
“Don’t just stand there!“ The med-tech huffed and pulled her inside. It seemed they were in agreement over not wanting to be seen together.
The room somehow looked different from the last time Helen had seen it. While it wasn’t exactly warm, it wasn’t as perishingly cold as the last time. There was a fire burning in a small, makeshift woodburner. The really extraordinary thing, however, was that there was light. It wasn’t natural light, of course, it was late evening and dark outside, and it wasn’t a traditional lamp either as the electrical grid was down everywhere. It was a string of LEDs, gathered together on the table, powered by what looked like a small generator. Helen raised her eyebrows. She was impressed. There were some generators around still, they had one back at their base, but that was nothing like that. That was building something out of nothing. Helen felt affirmed in her assessment that Liv Chenka really was very clever.
Helen turned her attention to the med-tech who stood in the middle of the room, her arms crossed in front of her chest apprehensively. She looked smaller without the large coat to bulk out her frame. Her brown hair wasn’t sticking to her face either, it had dried in soft waves and framed her surly features. Helen couldn’t help but think that she ought to smile more, it would suit those high cheekbones of hers.
“So? Have you come to a decision?“ Helen asked at last as the silence between them grew heavy.
“I’ll do it,“ the med-tech said, although it seemed to be difficult for her to voice it.
“Really?“ Helen couldn’t quite hide her surprise. That was far easier than expected! “That’s great!“ She grinned in anticipation of how pleased her superiors would be.
“Just you, though,“ Chenka interrupted quickly.
“Hm?“ Helen wasn’t quite sure what to make of that request but the med-tech carried on to explain:
“I don’t want to have to deal with any of the others of your lot. I’ll only talk to you. It’s too risky, if… only you. You’ve already been to my house, so… That’ll be a good cover story.“ She appeared to have given the matter some thought and Helen couldn’t deny that it was logical, it was something she would have suggested anyway. Nevertheless, she couldn’t resist the opportunity to tease her:
“So what am I then? Your lover? Your girlfriend?“ She raised her eyebrows challengingly and Chenka’s flustered response came as a surprise:
“N-nothing! You’re nothing. It’s only if anyone asks questions, if the Daleks…“
“Don’t worry, I’m sure I can make a convincing display of it,“ Helen found herself smirking and she wasn’t even sure why. There was something oddly appealing about the idea and she couldn’t deny that it was fun watching the med-tech squirm. Maybe it was her pretty face after all that had tipped the scales in her favour… either way, Helen wasn’t complaining.. “Don’t worry, Liv, it’ll be our secret.“ She used her first name deliberately and it seemed to have the desired effect as the med-tech blushed a little.
“What’s your name, anyway?“ She shot back with a huff.
“Helen. Helen Sinclair,“ Helen answered simply without resistance. She knew that was where she would have to try and build trust between them.
“Sounds like native Earth,“ Liv commented and Helen nodded.
“And Chenka is Kaldoran, isn’t it?“ She responded in kind but that time, the med-tech’s answer was more reserved.
“You already know that, you seem to know everything else about me,“ she huffed and Helen couldn’t deny that.
“Excuse me for trying to make conversation.“ She rolled her eyes but felt a twinge of guilt. She really did have her at a disadvantage.
“So how does this work?“ Liv seemed eager to cut to the chase. Helen noticed her fiddling with the ends of her sleeves. Evidently, she wasn’t as confident as she was pretending to be.
“The Daleks give you pretty free reign, don’t they? You get to go places where others don’t,“ Helen stated. We really should be talking business , she reminded herself.
“I get to go where people are injured,“ the med-tech corrected her.
“And sometimes that’s in high security areas, isn’t it?“ Helen pressed on, refusing to get distracted.
“Happened a few times… there’s not as many people there who can get themselves injured but yeah… I guess,“ Liv crossed her arms in front of her chest again.
“We need to know the layout of the main command centre. We want to strike where it hurts, and we will see to it that there are no humans around, before you ask. We need you to go in and stake out the place. So we know what we are up against and how to get people out.“ Helen added the last bit for good measure, she was beginning to understand how the med-tech worked and knew that was the one thing that was bound to get her attention.
“And how do you think I’m gonna do that?“ Liv exclaimed, obviously overwhelmed by the request. Helen knew she was asking a lot. The main control centre was one of the most heavily guarded buildings in the city. It wasn’t somewhere a human could just walk into. Not even Liv Chenka.
“Make up a reason why you need to talk to the Dalek leaders. Lacking medical supplies, I don’t know, I thought you were meant to be clever.“ What was intended as a joke came out flat and sounded almost harsh.
“You really know how to make someone feel valued,“ Liv snapped angrily and Helen realised her mistake.
“You are clever, Liv. And you can do this. Else we wouldn’t ask,“ she explained more patiently.
“Right, okay… But none of your lot follow, or watch me, or try to, I don’t know, help? In any way! I can’t be associated with you,“ Liv warned.
“Understood,“ Helen nodded in all seriousness and held her hands up.
“Come back in two days? Same time?“ Liv suggested at last and Helen smiled:
“It’s a date,“ she winked, unable to resist the opportunity and the med-tech rolled her eyes but ended up chuckling too. Helen noted that she had been right, a smile really did brighten her features immensely, it was quite infectious. “See you in two days.“ It took some self-control of Helen to bid her goodbye. She wanted to ask about the lamp she had built but she knew she should keep it professional, regardless of how she was beginning to enjoy her company.
“I don’t know why I’m doing this…“ Liv said, just as Helen was about to leave.
“Because it’s the right thing to do,“ she answered, looking back.
“Funny thing is… I don’t even know what the right thing is anymore… do you?“ The med-tech admitted and her gaze seemed to go right through Helen. She took a deep breath, contemplating her answer.
“If it hurts the Daleks, it’s the right thing to do,“ Helen decided to go with the party line.
“Right,“ Liv mumbled and Helen left, so she couldn’t go back on what she had said. She gasped for breath when she got outside, as if she had just pulled herself out of an ocean and onto dry land. In some ways she felt she had.
——
Liv's heartbeat was still thundering in her ears, even when she was back in her home and sure that she hadn’t been followed. She paced up and down the room, her grip firm around the data pad she had taken possession of. It felt so foreign in her hand when most things in her life had been reduced to pre-technology standards, but at the Dalek control centre everything was state of the art. She was playing a very dangerous game, she knew that. She was still high on adrenaline and shaking. Am I making a mistake? Stealing the command centre schematics was one thing. A very dangerous, stupid thing, but she had accomplished it. That was not the mistake she was considering. The question was whether she was doing the right thing handing it over to the resistance. There had been humans in that command centre, she had seen them. Liv wasn’t even sure what their function was exactly and she wondered if it was just a Dalek ploy: Humans as insurance against attacks… Only, the resistance seems to care less and less. She wasn’t sure if she could trust them to hold up their end of the bargain. Anxiously, she ran her hand through her hair.
A knock on the door pulled her out of her thoughts. She took a deep breath, collecting herself, as she opened up. She felt strangely reassured when she laid eyes on Helen Sinclair. She had a calming presence about her that Liv couldn’t quite put her finger on.
“Come in,“ Liv offered and Helen stepped inside. She looked around and Liv wasn’t sure what exactly she might be looking for. Does she expect me to have betrayed her at the last hurdle with Daleks waiting inside? The implication of her inquisitive gaze hurt Liv but she knew she couldn’t blame her. She didn’t know her well enough to understand that that was something she would never do. In the end, the blonde’s eyes settled on her and she frowned.
“Are you okay?“ She asked and Liv realised that maybe, she wasn’t as accomplished at hiding her feelings as she thought. She chose not to answer, she didn’t care for what she could only presume was fake concern. So instead, she stuck out her hand with the data pad that felt like it was burning her palm. She couldn’t wait to get rid of it.
“Layout, surveillance, schematics, it’s all there,“ the med-tech stated.
“Are you serious?“ Helen seemed genuinely shocked and Liv took a small measure of pride in having surpassed her expectations.
“Have you got me down as the joking type?“ She raised her eyebrows challengingly. The blonde eyed the data pad in her hand curiously, almost as if she couldn’t believe it. When she finally reached out, Liv pulled her hand back at the last second, she needed final assurances:
“If I give this to you, you have to promise me that no humans will get hurt. Not a single one. Do you understand?“ The med-tech stated firmly. She could leave no room for ambivalence and discussion. These were her terms and she would not be short changed.
“I do,“ Helen nodded.
“They’re not collateral damage in your fight,“ Liv carried on as she wasn’t sure she was taking her seriously enough. She didn’t care what Helen thought of her, they would probably never see each other again but she had to get her point across. “These people have suffered enough without you lot blowing them to pieces on top of everything else. You promise me!“ She insisted.
“I promise,“ Helen said and Liv wanted to believe her. There was a seriousness, an understanding in the blonde’s eyes that the med-tech hoped couldn’t be faked.
“Fine,“ she agreed at last and handed over the data pad.
“Thank you,“ Helen said, running her fingers along the edges of the pad with a similar sense of wonder that Liv had experienced. The med-tech nodded awkwardly, watching the motion mesmerised. Then, unexpectedly, Helen leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on her cheek. “You won’t regret it.“
“I hope so,“ Liv croaked, stunned by the intimate gesture. She felt heat rising in her cheeks and hoped Helen wouldn’t notice, she didn’t seem to, not as she turned to leave.
“You know I… admire you, just a little bit…“ Helen turned back for a moment, stalling with her hand around the door knob. Liv didn’t know how to take her words or the expression in her eyes. She remained quiet as the blonde carried on to explain: “You have the power of your convictions, you… you don’t betray them for anything.“
“I’m a med-tech, I took an oath,“ Liv huffed and crossed her arms in front of her chest protectively. She didn’t want to give too much weight to her words.
“Even an oath is just… words… at the end of the day,“ Helen pointed out and Liv looked up to her.
“It’s what you make of it. I’m choosing to believe your promise is not just words… don’t disappoint me,“ she said firmly and Helen nodded.
“Goodnight, Liv.“
Once the door fell shut, Liv was alone again and the silence around her was deafening. It struck her that Helen had no more reason to come visit again. She had given them what they wanted and outlived her usefulness. Liv could only hope she had done the right thing. Absentmindedly, she raised her fingertips to her cheek that seemed to tingle from the soft touch of her lips. Liv closed her eyes as tears threatened to fall. She couldn’t deny how much she longed for the closeness of another person, someone to walk the path through hell with her. The loneliness was the hardest part of her life. Helen Sinclair had a warmth and softness about her that Liv had only glimpsed briefly in her parting words. She could only presume she kept them well hidden underneath a confident facade and hardness they’d all had to adopt to get through what their life had become. It was what had made her trust her in the end and what made her want to see her again. It was wishful thinking, nothing more.
——
“It’s gonna have to happen tonight,“ Carna, otherwise known as the Hawk, announced when he lowered the data pad.
“What?“ Helen was the only one to ask as everyone else nodded in agreement. She felt a wave of anxiety rush through her. That’ s too fast! Surely, whatever they were going to do would require careful planning. She recalled Liv’s words: Irrational and ill-prepared.
“Strike fast and strike hard, before they have a chance to make changes to these security arrangements,“ the resistance leader carried on. “How sure are you that she didn’t get caught?“ He fixed his eyes on Helen.
“Well, she would have hardly been able to deliver this, would she, if she had been caught,“ she retorted.
“What if it’s a trap?“ Kavel, one of Carna’s most trusted advisers, asked.
“Why would it be?“ Helen shot back, almost affronted.
“Why wouldn’t it be?“ Another man quipped from the crowd. They had gathered together, all rank and file, to plan out their next moves upon her return with the desired data.
“Why did we do this whole thing if you don’t trust the information she provided?“ Helen was growing frustrated. She had been excited to deliver the information, surprised and delighted that Liv had been so successful, and now, she wondered why she had even gone through the trouble. She knew Liv had taken a great risk for them and that was not the thanks she deserved.
“You’ve met her a few times now, do you think she’s trustworthy?“ Carna cut in.
“Yes, I do, actually,“ Helen said confidently. “She just doesn’t want people getting hurt, she despises the Daleks just like us.“
“Not quite like us,“ Kavel huffed condescendingly. Helen was about to interject but Carna took charge of the conversation.
“We can use this, the schematics, for where to strike to bring the whole thing down. We should be able to get in but the way out…“ he mused, looking at the pad again.
“We have plenty of people that would be willing to make a one way trip for a target such as this,“ Kavel stated and Helen felt her blood run cold at the suggestion.
“Right, good, we mustn’t get found out, make the arrangements,“ Carna nodded, approving the cause of action.
“What about the people in there?“ Helen interrupted.
“Can’t take the risk, it’s too heavily guarded, if we try and get anyone out, the Daleks will be on to us,“ Carna shook his head.
“But…“ Helen balled her hands to fists. That was not what had been agreed, that was going against everything she had told Liv and everything her conscience would allow. She couldn’t accept it.
“No buts, this is my decision, on my conscience,“ the resistance leader shot her down.
“We can’t do this, if we take some time and plan…“ Helen tried again.
“The Daleks might change their security arrangements, no, we strike tonight,“ Kavel stated in support of their leader.
“With all due respect, I…“ Helen focused her eyes on Carna, fully aware that he had the final word in the matter.
“What’s wrong with you, Helen?“ He regarded her with growing distrust in return. “Have you forgotten what’s at stake here? With this information we can deal a crippling blow to their operations, do you realise that?“
“Yes of course but-“ she wanted to justify herself but wasn’t given the chance to.
“Whose side are you on? Has she got to you?“ Carna carried on.
“No!“ She exclaimed, as she felt all eyes were on her.
“Did she flash you a smile and turn your head?“ Kavel mocked.
“No!“ Helen ground her teeth in anger.
“Good, well. She seems to trust you. I want you to keep her busy,“ Carna instructed.
“Keep her busy?“ She echoed.
“While we do this, if anything goes wrong… she knows too much about this, if she gets cold feet, if she talks… keep her company until this is over and done with,“ he elaborated.
“And how do I explain my being with her?“ Helen snapped. She realised what it was about. She was being sidelined, sent away in case she, herself, got cold feet. She noticed the way everybody was looking at her and her heart sank. She could tell she had just lost a whole lot of trust around the room and why? Just because I expressed concern for human lives?
“You’re a pretty girl, Helen, you’ll think of ways to occupy her,“ Kavel snickered and some of the others joined in. Helen balled her hands to fists in anger, about to give him some choice words of her own, but Carna demanded her attention:
“Don’t disappoint us, Helen. You’re one of us, you have a place and a home here, don’t risk that. These are hard choices we have to make but we are making them for the right reasons.“

hello!!!!!!! (dw i have not broken my fingers, i feel like i should reassure you of that first XDDD) but mayhaps could you write a oneshot for this here prompt?- "a breathy demand 'kiss me'- and what the other does to respond"
(Asdfghjkl I’m so glad honestly bahaha! XD And of course!!! Allow me to just sprinkle in a nice, healthy dose of needy Shoto and we’re good to go! ;))

Shoto's soba slipped from his chopsticks and landed on the table with a large squelch, albeit he hardly even noticed; his eyes were glued to the screen.
'I can’t believe what I'm seeing! The building is completely aflame, it looks like it could collapse at any moment! Several civilians are still trapped inside!'
The screen cut to a view of the building across town. When the initial report had come on, Shoto had told himself that he would let the other heroes deal with it. After all, it was his day off and he was under strict orders not to come in unless specifically called upon - not that that had ever stopped him before. However, as the fire blazed on, the right side of his body ached with the knowledge that his ice could drastically help the situation.
'Wait! What was that?!' The reporter suddenly gasped, effectively distracting Shoto from his thoughts of getting up to find his hero costume; his eyes widened as a flash of green shot across the tv screen and flew into the building before disappearing completely.
The chopsticks snapped under Shoto's grip.
'Izuku.' He breathed.
'Is that-?! It is! I've just had confirmation that the number one hero is on the scene! That's right, everyone, Deku is here!'
Shoto leaned forward in his seat, waiting for the flash of emerald to reappear from within the cloud of smoke surrounding the building. For several moments though, there was no movement; Shoto felt his heart beat rapidly against his chest, the anticipation almost unbearable.
He knew his husband was number one for a reason. He knew that Izuku could handle it.
But what if? The thought gnawed at Shoto. I should be there with him.
His eyes started to sting but blinking simply wasn’t an option. He had to see it for himself: the moment Izuku emerges from that flaming wreck.
Frost crept up Shoto’s body when one of the remaining windows shattered, orange flames slithering out and dancing in the air. Distantly, he registered that the reporter was still commentating in the background, but he could hardly hear her for the drumming in his ears.
‘Come on, Izuku.’ He whispered, the living room suddenly feeling incredibly lonely. ‘Come back to me.’
The moment the words were out of his mouth, there was a loud explosion and the camera shook violently. However, the bright emerald light that suddenly started glowing from the smoke was unmistakable.
Izuku had burst out through the top of the building, carrying a dozen civilians in his arms, while Black Whip had secured several others with its long appendages. Shoto watched in awe as his husband carefully lowered himself and those he had saved to the ground, towards the awaiting ambulance. His trademark smile was plastered to his face, telling everyone that he was here.
'Izuku…' Shoto sighed, both proud and relieved, and allowed himself a small smile.
Then the smoke alarm went off.
☼ ☽
'I’m baaaack! Izuku called out as he stepped into the apartment, closing the door behind him and kicking off his shoes. After the fire incident that evening, he had been forced to stay behind at the agency to fill out the mandatory paperwork.
Izuku loved being a hero, he really did, but that didn’t make paperwork any less of a bitch.
As he wandered down the hallway towards the bedroom, a yawn escaped him and he rubbed at his sticky eyes. However, the moment he opened the door, a husband-sized object barrelled into him unexpectedly. Izuku let out an incredibly unheroic scream and stepped back to prevent them both from falling over, his back hitting the wall opposite with a loud thud.
‘Shoto!’ Izuku squeaked as his partner wrapped his arms around his shoulders and started nuzzling into his neck. He immediately relaxed into the familiar touch and sighed contentedly, bringing his hands up to rest on Shoto’s hips.
However, his sigh quickly escalated into a shocked gasp when Shoto started to press open-mouthed kisses along his neck.
His husband explored him fervently, before eventually settling just below his jawline, where he began to suck hungrily - his warm lips and tongue dragging across sensitive skin and causing Izuku to inhale sharply. Subconsciously, he tilted his head to the side to give him better access, his eyes fluttering shut.
‘You’re late.’ He finally heard Shoto mumble against him, licking his handiwork affectionately. ‘Missed you.’
‘Mmm… Missed you too.’ Izuku breathed, hands tightening around Shoto’s hips as he pulled him flush against him. His husband gasped at the sudden movement and lifted his head to stare at him through heavy-lidded eyes.
‘Kiss me.’ Shoto demanded in a voice barely above a whisper, licking his lips longingly.
‘I could never refuse you, my love.’
Izuku brought one of his hands up to his husband’s face, cupping his chin as he ran his thumb across his bottom lip, relishing in the way a cool tongue darted out to lick his digit. Heat pooled in his stomach and Izuku tilted Shoto’s chin as he leant forwards and captured his husband’s lips in a heated, open-mouthed kiss.
The moment their lips met, a flood of euphoria filled Izuku in his entirety and was only exacerbated when Shoto moaned into his mouth, hands coming up to tug at his curls.
‘Saw you on the news earlier.’ Shoto murmured when they finally broke apart, eagerly lifting his arms so Izuku could remove his Deku-themed pyjama top. Scarred hands traced his torso as he lifted the material, exposing his husband's athletic frame.
Once shirtless, Shoto braced his hands against Izuku's still-clothed chest. ‘You worried me - you spent way too long in that building.’
‘I had to get everybody out, you know that, Sho. You should also know by now that I’ll always come back to you.’ Izuku rubbed their noses together as Shoto hummed in response, clearly satisfied.
Suddenly feeling playful, Izuku grinned and lowered his hands to unabashedly knead his husband’s arse. ‘Anyway, I’ve been meaning to ask, what did you think of my exit? Brave? Inspiring? Reckless?’
Shoto jumped up and wrapped his legs around Izuku’s waist, leaning down for yet another passionate kiss.
‘Mmm, vey hot.’ He admitted, biting on Izuku’s lower lip and eliciting a loud hiss from him.
‘Well, there was a fire, Sho.’ He replied easily, smirking against his husband’s mouth as he began to carry him towards their bedroom.
‘Shut the fuck up.’ Shoto sighed, completely uninterested in his pun, and shut him up with a kiss. However, he let out an undignified yelp when Izuku responded by throwing him onto the bed with no prior warning, before moving his hands to the hem of his shirt and swiftly removing the garment.
Admiring the prominent flush coating Shoto’s face, Izuku then crawled onto the bed and trapped him between his large arms. He stared down at his husband, admiring his kiss-bruised lips, his long hair in disarray and the way he stared right back at him with dichromatic eyes that shone like the sky.
‘Izuku.’ Shoto uttered his name like a prayer and Izuku felt his heart melt just that little bit more. His vision blurred slightly as fresh tears formed and he bent his head, smiling against Shoto’s mouth as he tasted his lips once more.
‘I love you so fucking much.’ He laughed, moving to plaster his husband’s neck with hickeys as an act of fair vengeance and thoroughly enjoying the way Shoto moaned in response.
‘I love you too, Izu.’ Shoto grasped Izuku’s biceps and ran his hands along the bulging muscles. ‘Stay with me?’
Izuku grinned as he nuzzled his husband’s neck.
‘Forever.’

Protect You
Fandom: Peaky Blinders
Characters: Michael x reader, Finn, Isaiah, Polly.
Warnings: Cheating but not really, alcohol consumption, swearing, kinda angst but there’s fluff dw.
Word Count: 2,527
Requested: Yes
Anon: Hello, btw i love your acc💛 can you do a michael gray x reader were they argue because she sees him kissing a girl (not because he wants to) so they are separates for a week and he can't sleep and gets drunk... so polly goes to talk to the reader and tell her what really happend and next night, she goes to see michael and they forgive each other (last part with fluff if u can plase!!)
A/N: It was kinda hard to find a reason for him to cheat without wanting to so I had to make up a tiny little subplot.
Y/N = Your name
Tumblr media
You kept your head down as you made your way through the large crowds of drunks that were flooding the Garrison. You were meant to be meeting Michael for a couple of drinks with Isaiah and Finn after work before heading back to his for the night. With the amount of time you spent at his you were practically living there, Michael was actually planning on asking you to officially move in with him.
You breathed a sigh of relief when you finally caught sight of Isaiah and Finn waving you over to their table, after sitting down in a free chair you smiled over at the two boys noticing that Michael wasn’t with them.
“Hello boys,” you greeted with a smile before taking out a cigarette and placing it between your lips and lighting it.
“To save you from asking, Michael’s at the bar getting a round,” Finn said with a chuckle.
“Who said I was going to ask?” You respond giggling while standing and looking over the heads of people to find Michael. After spotting him you make your way over not noticing his tense frame nor the fair-haired woman next two him.
“I see your girlfriend has arrived,” the unknown woman stated to Michael after they both had caught a glimpse of you entering the Garrison.
“Who the fuck are you?” Michael questioned in a dangerous tone but yet quiet enough to not draw any attention to the two of them.
After the woman had taken the seat next to where Michael was standing at the bar waiting for his drinks, she began spewing out facts upon facts about him, his family and their entire schedules he felt his anger begin to surface. The Peaky Blinders just couldn’t catch a fucking break.
But none of that anger was the equivalent to how he felt right now after she had pointed you out, she knew who you were and obviously whoever she was working for did too. Forgetting about the drinks he turned to face her taking in her smug expression at the reaction she got from him and the way his entire body language changed at the mention of you.
“It’s not important who I am Mr. Gray,” she responded cooly while taking a sip of her champagne.
“You’re right, it’s not,” Michael began in a malice tone causing a smirk from the woman.
“I don’t give a fuck who you are, what’s important is that you, and whoever the hell you’re working for, stays far, far away from her. Because I swear to god if anyone, and I mean anyone, lays one goddamn finger on her, I will be coming for you.” His face was close to hers now making sure she heard every word.
“I wouldn’t go around making threats Michael, not when you have no idea what we’re capable of.”
The woman's eyes flickered behind Michael quickly before she continued with a smile. “Now, make a scene and I will shoot her in the head right here right now,” her face moved even closer as his paled at her words.
He reached for his gun but the still unnamed woman rested her hand on his firmly and abruptly pressed her lips to his.
You stopped in your tracks, the sight making you sick to your stomach. Holding back the tears that were already forming you threw your cigarette to the floor, it joining the shards of shattered glass from the stumbles of the drunken men and women surrounding you. You let out a deep breath before changing directions to instead walk past Michael, making sure to harshly bump your shoulder into his which was enough for him to pull himself away from the woman and notice your retreating form.
Ignoring her smirk Michael pushed himself away from the woman who let out a chuckle and began to chase after you, feeling nothing but anger at her but more so at himself for letting her get to him and throw him off guard.
You ignored his calls as you hurried away from the pub, having to stop once you were out of there and lean against the cold brick wall to let out heavy breaths, soon accompanied by harsh sobs as you finally let the tears fall.
“Y/N please just listen to me,” Michael pleaded as soon as he caught up to you, walking towards you trying to take your trembling form in his arms causing you to quickly back away from him.
“Don’t you fucking touch me Michel Gray!” You screamed, ignoring the various eyes on you from the people passing by.
“You don’t understand Y/N, please just-”
“Oh I understand perfectly Michael, I understand that I wasn't good enough and instead of being a man about it and telling me to fuck off, you decided to go out and shove your tongue down the throat of the first whore you find.” You had started walking now, turning your back on him and beginning the short walk to your flat.
“You know I would never do that to you sweetheart,” Michael responded softly while following after you.
You laughed pathetically at his excuse, not bothering to wipe your eyes as tears continued to roll down your cheeks.
“But you did Michael,” you stated sternly.
“Y/N, I swear-” Michael began before cutting himself off not knowing what to say. He never liked involving you in the darker side of the business, and he didn’t know whether telling you the truth would put you in danger and do more harm than good.
“That’s what I thought,” you mumbled at his silence before taking one last look at him and continuing your way back home, not hearing Michael behind you this time as you kept your head down.
After crying yourself to sleep that night you woke up the next morning to find Isaiah and another peaky boy standing out the front of your building, after asking about the unnecessary invasion of privacy from your window the only answer you were left with was that it was ‘Michael’s orders.’ If you weren’t so heartbroken you’d laugh at how Michael all of a sudden was trying to protect you after the pain he already caused. Expecting them to be gone the next morning they weren’t, only being replaced in the afternoons by two more boys who were then replaced by four boys during the nighttime.
This cycle continued everyday for two weeks, with you not caring enough to wonder why Michael constantly had men guarding your house, that was until you got a visit from Polly one afternoon and the men had dispersed.
“Isaiah claims you’ve barely left your place these past two weeks,” she states taking a sip of the tea you had just poured.
You didn’t say anything as you took a seat across from her at the table.
“Wish I could say the same about Michael,” she continued.
You let out a bitter chuckle at this. “Yeah I'm sure he’s having a great time. Must be fun to go out drinking and wake up in a different whores bed every morning.”
Polly tensed and put her cup on the table and lit a cigarette before responding. “Now Y/N, you’re lucky I’m an understanding woman or so help me God you’d be drenched in this boiling tea for disrespecting my boy that way.”
“He’s the one who disrespected me in the first place Polly, although I doubt that’s what he told you. Wouldn’t want to come across as an unfaithful coward to mummy.”
“Right,” she began before taking a drag of the cigarette. “I’ve had enough of this pathetic, pitiful sulking, from both of you. Do you really think Michael would intentionally cheat on you? Especially when he was meant to be meeting you?”
“Don’t have to think Pol, he did,” you sighed looking down at the table.
“No Y/N, he didn’t. For the past two weeks him, Tommy, John, Arthur and just about every other man in this God forsaken town, apart from the ones making sure that your stubborn self was safe, were out on a killing spree. Because the woman he was with that night was part of an organisation that were planning on taking every single person involved with this family out. She had her eyes set on you in particular which is why she went out of her way to get to Michael, to piss him off, knowing that she could do anything she wanted as long as she had you in the palm of her hand. She was going to kill you that night Y/N.”
“Was part of an organisation?” You asked hesitantly after taking a few moments to take in all the information.
“Michael wanted to leave her to last, happened this morning actually. He wanted to make her fear the way he did when he lost you to her little game,” she clarified ashing her cigarette in the ash tray you had on the table.
“And of course he's been drinking his weight in whiskey this whole time, so you could say he’s gotten his ass kicked quite a few times, I just thank my lucky stars he’s still alive,” she concluded with a slight glare, no doubt blaming you partly for this entire ordeal.
“Where is he now?” You questioned urgently.
Michael had never coped well with killing anyone even when it came to the man who abused him when he was a child, and now after learning that he’d been doing it for two weeks while being injured in the process, you knew you had to go to him.
“After the past two weeks he’s had he’d be at his house now that it’s all over,” she responded nodding at you as you stood up and ran towards the door, grabbing your coat along the way.
Luckily your flat wasn’t too far away from his house by cab. After paying the driver you climbed out and rushed up to the front door, knocking on it quickly before you began to pace in front of it awaiting for his appearance.
You cursed under your breath as you felt tears spring to your eyes as they had every day for the past two weeks whenever you thought about Michael. This time it was in grief, grief at the time you two lost and anger at yourself for the pain you must of caused him, for not listening to him. You had never in your wildest dreams imagined that Michael would cheat on you, he was a good man, raised to be one by both his mothers despite the business he was in, you just wished you'd thought of that when you were spending all this time ignoring his phone calls and staying hauled up in your flat.
After standing outside for two minutes with no indicator that he was coming you banged on the door again.
“Michael it’s me, please open up,” you called as you ran a hand through your hair in nervousness.
Within seconds the door was flung open and you almost gasped at the sight of him. There were bags under his eyes and judging by the redness in the whites of them he’d been taking snow to stay on his feet from not sleeping. He had a fading bruise on his cheek and you could only hope that was his only injury from all he had been doing for two weeks straight. His hair was disarrayed and his clothes crooked he hadn't been taking care of himself and just the thought alone caused a pain in your chest. There was also dried blood on the sleeves of his shirt, he obviously hadn’t cleaned up yet from this morning.
“I had to,” he whispered noticing your gaze on his shirt. “They were going to hurt you.”
You didn't say anything but instead nodded your head as tears began to fall from your eyes, your heart breaking for him with every passing second. Michael lowered his head in what looked like shame and moved to the side with the door open so you could get inside and away from the cold. Walking through the entrance you kept your eyes on Michael as he gently shut the door, still refusing to look at you.
It became clear he wasn’t going to make the first move and provide any physical contact. He wanted that to be up to you after the way you had left things, but he couldn’t bring himself to say it, he was just grateful to be in your presence again and hear your voice.
When he finally turned around to face you it only took one look at the pained expression in his eyes for you to fling yourself into his arms. Michael hesitantly raised his arms and wrapped them around you.
“I love you,” you mumbled into his shoulder.
“I love you too,” he breathed out in relief holding you tighter.
“Polly told me everything, I’m sorry I doubted you Michael.”
“Don’t,” he said before pressing a kiss to your forehead. “Please can we just try to forget about it all?”
You pulled away and looked up into his eyes knowing that was all he wanted, to forget about the pain he caused you, the pain he went through, the things he did in order to protect you. Not that he would ever take them back, he’d do anything to protect you, no matter how much it would affect him because he knew that at the end of each day you'd be there for him.
“It’s okay, we don’t have to talk about it,” you whispered taking his face gently in your hands.
Michael nodded his head, taking in your beauty after not seeing it in person for these few weeks. Your words and touch being all the comfort he needed in this moment.
“I’m never going to let anything hurt you,” he stated assuringly, more so for himself than you.
“I know you won’t,” you responded leaning up and placing a soft kiss to his lips.
“I mean it Y/N,” he began after pulling away from you. “I’m going to protect you, from anything and anyone that ever tries to hurt you.”
You simply nodded your head as you slid off his waist coat and began unbuttoning his shirt, feeling the need to get rid of the reminder of what he had been doing these two weeks, more for his sake than yours.
Michael gripped onto your hips firmly, keeping his eyes trained on yours as you did your best to contain your emotions after seeing the few scars and bruises that became visible on his body after removing his shirt and tossing it to the ground. Bringing your arms up around his neck you pulled his head down so his lips could meet yours once again but in a more desperate and passionate kiss, letting every emotion pour into it after having been apart for such a short amount of time compared to what others had gone through but knowing you could never go that long without him again.

“Twelve Days Of Christmas” by Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters (Day 7 of 31)
I heard the song and this scene wrote itself.
Launchpad didn’t know why there were so many birds associated with Christmas, but here they were on day seven. With seven small porcelain swans and large red bows tied around their long necks.
Here he’d thought the six geese had been bad.
Peering at the swans on their mantle, Launchpad asked, “How many more birds should I be expecting?”
“None, thank goodness,” Gos said from the couch where she was hunkered down with her laptop. “All I’ve had so far is stupid birds. But the last half is so gonna make up for this avian wave.”
She was typing furiously, not even looking up at him as she spoke. Launchpad was always so impressed with how good Gos was with technology. Her fingers flew across keyboards with ease, always knowing exactly what button to push, or what feature to tap on her phone, and she had mastered sending him moving pictures in text messages. He was still adjusting to the latest update when all his apps had changed colors. Sure, he could text and type, but he was slow compared to Gos.
And he’d learned to not go to DW for any technological help. The mallard talked a big game and seemed to learn things more quickly than Launchpad, but DW was often as clueless on something as his sidekick.
“Hey, DW, how do you take a picture of your phone screen?”
DW turned to face him, a smug look on his face. Launchpad immediately regretted his question.
“You came to the right duck, LP,” DW said, traipsing over to his sidekick and taking out his phone. “It’s called a screenshot.” He unlocked his phone. “And you take one just like so.” The screen went dark.
“Oops!” DW said, glancing at the device. “Must’ve hit that power button too hard, there. Let’s try this again. If my phone will unlock. I swear, technology never works when you want it to. Read my feather-print you—”
“Okay, I’ll remind you to finger-paint tomorrow,” came a female voice from the phone itself. Launchpad took a step back as DW started having a conversation. With his phone.
Gos ended up showing him how to screenshot later.
“Y’sure are typin’ fast,” Launchpad said, looking over to Gos.
“Listen, tracking down ten of anything is a feat, not to mention when it’s ten lords who are supposed to be jumping.”
“I think they’re leaping,” Launchpad pointed out.
“Which the internet had less results for, so here we are at jumping.”
Launchpad walked over to the couch and sat beside Gos, peering at her computer screen. “Is that the guy from Shrek?”
Gos grinned. “Farquaad needs to be jumping, or have the ability to jump, and I’ll bring ten of him into this house.”
What had started as an innocent “this was so stupid I had to get it and show you” gift from DW had exploded into a Christmas competition between father and daughter. Using the Twelve Days of Christmas as their guide, they brought home the most ridiculously gaudy items, trying to out-gift the other from the day before. The unsuspecting felt partridge in the plastic pear tree DW had found at a thrift store sat on their dining table as the centerpiece. The poor thing had no idea the chaos had started. And all the birds that had come in its wake.
Two stuffed turtle doves on DW’s bed.
Three painted French hens framed and mounted in the hallway.
Four calling bird cutouts strung along the staircase banister.
Six plastic lawn ornament geese stuck in the backyard, all but one “laying” large golden wreaths.
And now the seven swans swimming on the mantle.
“You’re very calm about all of this,” Launchpad said. And it was true. If it wasn’t for her fingers prancing across the keyboard, she might’ve even look bored.
DW was on the opposite side of the spectrum, always coming and going in a flurry of snow, muttering about the underhandedness of consumerism and wondering how was he supposed to find these things in only one day, etc., etc..
Gos glanced at Launchpad with a smirk on her beak and mischief in her eyes. He’d seen that expression before and was suddenly grateful that she was competing against DW and not him.
“I have the even days,” she said.
“And there are twelve days….” Launchpad shook his head and chuckled.
“No matter what Dad does, I have the final day. And I have learned about the magic of online shopping.” Clicking her mouse a few more times, she shut her laptop. “Lords are ordered. I’m gonna prep my maids for tomorrow before that museum party thing tonight.”
Launchpad wondered if DW knew that he had the odd days.
The answer came after the nine dancing ladies when DW, buttoning up his coat to go shopping, paused and glanced up at Launchpad in horror. “She has the even days!”
Gos’s laughter echoed down the hall from the direction of her room.

Up And Running (Supernatural x Reader)
WEDIM DAY TWENTY TWO
SUPERNATURAL X READER
WORD COUNT: 737
WARNINGS: None
SUMMARY: Years have passed, the Winchesters have gone and everything is okay. The impala was been put to rest in an old junkyard, slowly rotting away until you and brother come along. It calls out to you and before you know it you’re both sent down a road that’ll change your life.
A/N: Heres a little mini series I want to start. Let me know fi you like it!!
--
My brother couldn’t see past the mud and grime at first but the moment I saw the beautiful old car I was completely in love.
It was like she was calling my name, she was the only car in that junk yard that had grabbed my attention. She was not battered beyond belief like the others. She was not tired looking at all. She just looked like she had just been parked there and forgotten about.
My brother tried to complain when I brought the car, but at $400 it was an absolute steal. With help from the junk yard’s owner, we managed to push her down the road to my family home.
--
For the first couple of days, I couldn’t bring myself to start work on her. I just sat in the driver’s seat and listened. Although she did not run and her engine was shot she seemed to hum as if magic ran through her black metal frame. The longer I sat in her worn leather seats the more things I noticed. The gun under the driver’s seat, the battered FBI badge and an SW-DW scratched into the roof. Whoever owned this car last really loved her, and had a really weird job.
When I finally got the courage to start her restoration I started with the trunk. I ripped the weeds growing in her mouldy carpet out and was surprised to find a secret compartment underneath. Inside there were probably hundreds of guns and knives, and was that a grenade launcher? There were prayer beads hung on the top and several weird looking symbols. There were machetes and pistols, handguns and spears. Whoever these people were they were obviously ready for an apocalypse. There was a picture placed on the top of one of the ammo boxes. I picked it up, wiped the dust off and looked at the three men in the picture
There was one tall one. He had dark hair down to his shoulders and there was something quite sad about the way he stood. The man next to him was only just shorter. He had short light brown hair styled into a little quiff. He looked strong, but tired like he had a lot of responsibility on his shoulders. Then, next to him was another slightly shorter man again. He wore a scruffy looking suit and trench coat. His tie was backwards and he looked very unsure and was obviously not looking in the right direction for the picture. He had dark hair and bright blue eyes, much brighter than eyes really should be… maybe it was just the light.
The man in the trench coat seemed somehow familiar. Like I’d him before recently. Was he at the junk yard? There were a lot of people there…
I flipped the photo and there written in scruffy handwriting, half smudged from the damp, which read: Sam, Dean and Cas. Kansas, ’16. I guessed that’s who was in the photo. What a lucky car to have these three drive her. They were not half bad looking at all!
I straighten up when the hair on the back of my neck stands up. Someone was watching. I took the pair of keys hidden among the weapons and looked around. No one was there. I shook it off, I must be paranoid but I got to work.
Within a week she was back up and running as if she was new. She had new seats, carpet and I had to nearly completely rebuild the engine. With the help of my brother, it didn’t take too long to take the thing apart, clean everything and change a few valves and nuts and put it back together.
My brother, Jared slipped into the passenger seat and I got into the driver’s seat. I slipped the keys into the ignition and turned the key. A big grin grew on my lips as the heavenly purr echoed through the quiet night. I looked over at Jared, who had a similar expression on his face and pulled away from the driveway.
--
As Y/n and her brother drove into the night, Castiel watched on with a smile. He had hoped you’d be the ones to pick her. The Impala was back up and running and Cas knew it could only mean one thing. Trouble.
